Perdue on NACUA board
JOHNSON CITY – Troy J. Perdue, Deputy Counsel at East Tennessee State University, has been elected to the board of directors of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) as a member-at-large. He was named to the post during NACUA’s recent annual conference in Minneapolis.
At ETSU, Perdue frequently handles First Amendment, employment and transactional matters in addition to serving as legal counsel, and also teaches ethics and law-related courses. Since joining the university in 2009, Perdue has authored a number of papers in higher education publications, presented on legal issues at higher education conferences, and published articles for the Journal of College and University Law.
Prior to joining the university, he was a business and real estate attorney for over 10 years. He received his B.A. degree in 1992 from Palm Beach Atlantic University and graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee with a J.D. degree in 1999.
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., NACUA is the primary source of higher education law programming for its members and for the higher education community. Founded in 1960, the association serves more than 860 public and private higher education institutions and more than 4,800 attorneys throughout the United States and internationally.
NACUA produces publications, which includes The Journal of College and University Law, and also sponsors continuing education workshops, operates a website with a multitude of higher education legal resources and establishes cooperative relationships with other associations and groups.
