Welcome Hank Yang
JOHNSON CITY – (September 17, 2018) Chun-Han (Hank) Yang is Taiwan’s number one sprinter in track and field and is already eyeing a spot in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. In preparation for that goal, he is spending a month at East Tennessee State University training at the U.S. Olympic Training Site.
Yang is working with Dr. Brad DeWeese and Dr. Kimi Sato, faculty members in the Department of Sport, Exercise, Recreation, and Kinesiology in the ETSU Clemmer College. While in Johnson City, he will participate in track workouts, strength and condition training, and testing in the lab.
Yang recently claimed a gold medal in the 100-meter sprint at the 2017 World Universidad Games and a silver medal in the 200-meter race at the 2018 Asian Games. He is currently attending National Taiwan University of Sport in Taichung.
He is the first athlete from Taiwan to train at the U.S. Olympic Training Site at ETSU.
