Duo guest recital
JOHNSON CITY (OCt. 18, 2018) — Cellist Christine Kim and pianist Arunesh Nadgir will perform in a guest artist recital at East Tennessee State University on Friday, Oct. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Brown Hall Auditorium.
The duo will perform a variety of music, including works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Leos Janacek, Rebecca Clarke, Gaspar Cassado and Sergei Rachmaninoff.
Kim is an assistant professor at Middle Tennessee State University and has performed in concerts throughout North America and Europe. After moving to Tennessee in 2011, Kim participated in the Nashville Opera, the IRIS Orchestra, the Gateway Chamber Orchestra and the Stones River Chamber Players. She also worked with students in programs such as the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and the Tennessee Valley Music Festival.
Nadgir is the coordinator of keyboard studies and associate professor of piano at MTSU, and co-directs the MTSU Keyboard Artist Series. Nadgir has performed globally appearing at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre and Jordan Hall. He also has participated in several international music festivals and performed on Nashville Public Radio.
Tickets for the recital are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors and free for students with ID.
