IBMA Awards
JOHNSON CITY – East Tennessee State University congratulates the alumni, faculty and students of Bluegrass, Old Time and Country Music Studies who received 2018 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards.
Current ETSU graduate student and Bluegrass, Old-Time and Country Music Studies alumna Aynsley Porchak received an Instrumentalist of the Year Momentum Award.
Alumna Becky Buller and alumnus and Program Director Dan Boner received an IBMA award for their work on “Speakin’ to That Mountain,” which won for Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year.
Buller also received an award for her work with Missy Raines, Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull and Alison Brown on “Swept Away,” which won for Recorded Event of the Year.
The winners were announced at the 2018 IBMA Awards Show, held Sept. 27 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh, North Carolina.Jennifer Hill
