TRIO workshops

KINGSPORT (Oct. 3, 2018) – Anyone thinking about returning to college or taking classes for the first time is invited to attend one of three free Financial Aid and College Admissions/Transfer Workshops being offered.

The workshops are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 9 or Nov. 8 at the Kingsport Center for Higher Education, 300 W. Market St., from 4:30-7:30 p.m., and Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Kingsport Public Library, 400 Broad St., in the auditorium, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Sponsored by East Tennessee State University TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC), the workshops are open to the public. No matter which college is being considered, attendees will receive information and assistance with college admissions, financial aid and scholarships. The workshops will also provide information about Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect.

TRIO advisors will also be available to assist with completing the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The EOC program is designed to help further higher education opportunities for adults and is funded by a federal TRIO grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
