Dr. Steven Wallace presents at Nashville Zoo.
ETSU Professor, Dr. Steven Wallace, gave a presentation on the fossil history of tapirs at the Nashville Zoo. The presentation was part of the Zoo’s 3rd Annual Party for the Planet Celebration and was open to the public. During the talk Wallace highlighted the Gray Fossil Site and the importance of its fossil tapirs for helping save living tapirs. Today the Nashville Zoo is home to a family of three Baird’s tapirs: JuJu is the mother of two male calves, Tybalt is her first, now two years old, and the recent addition, Kuzco, was born in March.
