Dr. Arsham Alamian Invited to Serve on Editorial Board
Dr. Arsham Alamian, Associate Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology in the East Tennessee State University College of Public Health, has been invited to serve as a member of the editorial board for PLOS ONE.
“After serving as peer reviewer for PLOS ONE for many years, I am honored to be invited to serve as an Academic Editor for the journal. In this role, I will have the privilege of working with authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial board to identifying and selecting the best research papers for the journal”, stated Dr. Alamian.
PLOS ONE accepts scientifically rigorous research, regardless of novelty. PLOS ONE’s broad scope provides a platform to publish primary research, including interdisciplinary and replication studies as well as negative results. The journal’s publication criteria are based on high ethical standards and the rigor of the methodology and conclusions reported.
Dr. Alamian's research focuses on chronic disease risk factors and their clustering among vulnerable populations. He is leading a multidisciplinary team of researchers and students on the studies of metabolic syndrome and multiple risk behaviors at ETSU. Dr. Alamian is also co-investigator on an inter-professional grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse to address prescription drug abuse and misuse in Appalachia.
