College of Public Health Faculty and Staff Elected to Association Leadership Positions
Karen Ervin, Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration for the College of Public Health and Clinical Instructor in the Department of Health Services Management and Policy, has been elected by her peers to serve in a senior leadership position in the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH). She will serve as Co-Chair for the Finance and Administration section one of the 4 sections within ASPPH. ASPPH positions are elected by counterparts at other schools and programs.
ASPPH is the membership organization for all schools of public health and graduate programs in public health that are accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. Currently, ASPPH membership includes almost one hundred different universities across the USA and in several other countries.
Sections are professional development networks for senior faculty and staff with primary administrative responsibilities. The four sections are: Academic Affairs, Academic Public Health Practice, Finance and Administration, and Research.
Dr. Pack, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Public Health and Professor in the Department of Community and Behavioral Health, will continue to serve as Co-Chair of the Academic Affairs section. Dr. Wykoff, Dean of the College and Professor in the Department of Health Services Management and Policy, will continue serve as the Chair of the Education Committee for the Association, and in this capacity, also serves as a member of the Board of Directors.
Dr. Wykoff stated “It is a tremendous honor for ETSU that two of the four sections of our membership organization are chaired by members of the senior leadership of the College of Public Health. ETSU leadership is important because it allows us to be at the heart of major decisions that will impact the field for years to come.”
