Sixty-two East Tennessee State University faculty members were promoted and 28 granted tenure by the ETSU Board of Trustees, the university’s governing body, during its recent quarterly meeting.  Of that number, seven and five, respectively, were from the College of Public Health.

The following two faculty members attained the rank of full professor: J. Michael Stoots, Community and Behavioral Health; and Hadii Mamudu, Health Services, Management and Policy.

Elevated to associate professor, and granted tenure,  were the following five faculty members: Mildred Maisonet, Biostatistics and Epidemiology; Katie Baker, Community and Behavioral Health; Ying Li, Environmental Health; Michelle Chandley, Health Sciences; and Kate Beatty, Health Services, Management and Policy.

“I am incredibly proud of our faculty who have been recognized with tenure and promotion," said Dean Randy Wykoff.  “It is not only reflects the tremendous accomplishment of these faculty, in teaching and in research, but it also is symbolic of the maturation of the College of Public Health.”

He added “It has been a personal pleasure to work with all seven of these individuals and to watch their remarkable contributions to their profession and to our students.”
