MPH Student McKenzie Liegel Awarded Fellowship

McKenzie Liegel

McKenzie Liegel, Master of Public Health student in the Department of Community and Behavioral Health, has been awarded a placement in the 2018-2020 cohort of the Wisconsin Population Health Service Fellowship Program.

The Wisconsin Population Health Service Fellowship Program is a two-year service and training program designed for masters prepared individuals in public health and allied sciences. The program provides Fellows with practical field experiences framed around a model of continuous learning around health equity, collaborative leadership and service.

The primary goal of the Fellowship Program is to develop the next generation of Wisconsin public health practitioners skilled in planning, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs. At the heart of the program is a commitment to public service, and as an AmeriCorps VISTA alumna, Ms. Liegel is excited to continue serving with a public health focus.

Ms. Liegel will graduate in May from ETSU with her MPH with a concentration in Community Health. The Fellowship will place her at the Eau Claire City-County Health Department and the Chippewa County Health Department. Originally from Wisconsin, she is thrilled to return to work on public health challenges facing her home state.
