East Tennessee State University’s College of Public Health hosted “Coronavirus: Separating Fact from Fiction,” a presentation and question and answer session featuring three local experts on infectious diseases and public health.

The event, part of the college’s Leading Voices in Public Health lecture series, was be held on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 6-7 p.m. on Zoom.

Dr. Randy Wykoff, dean of the ETSU College of Public Health, was joined by Dr. Jonathan Moorman, vice chair of research and scholarship, professor and chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at ETSU’s Quillen College of Medicine; and Dr. David Kirschke, medical director at Northeast Regional Health Office, Tennessee Department of Health.

The event was attended by over 200 participants and the panelists received 40 questions in the Q&A section during the event, along with over 50 received prior to the event.

“I think that it is fair to say that the public is hungry for good, unbiased information on COVID-19,” stated Dr. Wykoff, “and I think that Dr. Moorman and Dr. Kirschke did a magnificent job in addressing a wide range of questions from the public.”
