Dr. Liang Wang Speaks at Research Meetings in China

Dr. Liang Wang, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology in the ETSU College of Public Health, recently spoke at the Westlake Youth Forum.  The Forum was held from June 21-23, 2016 in Chengdu City, China.  Dr. Wang joined the round table discussions as a commentator with Dr. Harry Zhang, former President of CHPAMS, for a session entitled “How to map your future - Myths VS Truths?”   

Dr. Lincoln Chen, President of the China Medical Board and Professor of International Health at Harvard University and Dr. Gabriel Matthew Leung, Dean of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong, also spoke at the Forum.

Seven overseas members from China Health Policy and Management Society (CHPAMS) were selected to participate in the Forum. 

Dr. Wang was elected to the Board of Directors of CHPMAS and has served since July 2016.

Shortly after the Westlake Youth Forum, as Principal Investigator of a subcontract for the United States National Institute of Health U54 Project 3 entitled “Multilevel systems-oriented childhood obesity study in China”, Dr. Wang was invited to present “Rapid growth of fast food industry in China” and to chair a research session at the China Childhood Obesity Study annual meeting held from June 23-24, 2016. è The meeting was funded by U.S. NIH and hosted by the National Nutrition and Health Institute of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC). Dr. Wang was the U.S. coordinator of the meeting.
