Dr. Mamudu Selected as Fellow of the American Heart Association

Dr. Hadii Mamudu, Professor in the Department of Health Services Management and Policy in the East Tennessee State University College of Public Health, was elected by his peers as a Fellow of the American Heart Association conferred by the Council on Epidemiology and Prevention.

This Fellowship recognizes and awards premium professional members for excellence, innovative and sustained contributions in the areas of scholarship, practice and/or education, and volunteer service within the American Health Association. 

”Recognition by one’s peers as a Fellow of a professional association, is reflective of long-standing meritorious contributions to the field,” said Randy Wykoff, Dean of the College of Public Health.  “Dr. Mamudu is an internationally recognized expert in tobacco policy and in cardiovascular health, and his selection as a Fellow is a great honor for him, and for our College.

Election as a Fellow is reserved for members who are scientists, physicians, clinical professionals and academicians with a major and productive interest in cardiovascular disease epidemiology and/or cardiovascular disease prevention, and whose accomplishments support the stated objectives of the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association and the Council on Epidemiology and Prevention.

The American Heart Association Council on Epidemiology and Prevention is a multidisciplinary council dedicated to improving the cardiovascular health of all Americans. Members study and impact population and individual health using molecular, epidemiological, social, technological, data analytic and advocacy tools to understand and improve the causes, consequences, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
