College of Public Health Recognizes Athlete Academic MVPs
The faculty and staff of the College of Public Health are extremely proud of all of their students, including their many outstanding student athletes. Of particular note are those College of Public Health students recognized this year as having the highest grade point average on their respective teams.
Baseball - Kyle Richardson
Kyle graduated from Zionsville Community High School with academic honors. He was the primary Sunday starting catcher for the 2020 season and made six starts and nine appearances in the season before it was suspended. Kyle is majoring in health sciences.
Men’s Golf – Austin Carter
Austin is a multi-sport athlete from Sullivan South High School. He qualified for the 2017 U.S. Junior Amateur Golf Championship and finished runner-up at the 2017 Tennessee State Amateur Golf tournament. He competed in six tournaments during the season and tallied a season-best 25th-place finish at the Georgia Southern Individual Collegiate in February. Austin is majoring in microbiology.
Women’s Track & Field – Lindsay Bruce
Lindsay received the 2017 Honor of Sedes Sapientiae, which is the highest honor Knoxville Catholic High School confers on its graduating seniors. She earned a spot on the Southern Conference Honor Roll, a Southern Conference Academic All-Conference selection in indoor and outdoor track and field, and was a recipient of the Southern Conference Commissioner’s Medal. Lindsay is majoring in health sciences.
Triathlon – Cameron Seeley
Cameron was a competitive swimmer and soccer player in high school from Blacksburg, Virginia who lettered in swimming and qualified for state all four years. She didn't begin competing in triathlons until she came to ETSU her freshman year. She placed in 14th at Nationals during her previous season. Cameron is majoring in health sciences.
