Dr. Kate Beatty, Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Services Management and Policy, has been invited to serve as a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice

Dr. Beatty stated, “It is an honor to be a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice. JPHMP bridges the gap public health research and practice with a focus on evidence-based public health practice and research.”

The journal is a bi-monthly peer-reviewed publication guided by a multidisciplinary editorial board of administrators, practitioners and scientists. It publishes articles about a wide range of population health topics including research to practice; emergency preparedness; bioterrorism; infectious disease surveillance; environmental health; community health assessment, chronic disease prevention and health promotion, and academic-practice linkages.

Since the journal is also recognized as a practice based public health journal, the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice has recently published focus issues defining the public health workforce, performance management and bridging the research to practice gap.

Dr. Beatty continued, “I find that much of the best science in the field of public health practice is coming out this journal and I look forward to working with the amazing editors and authors.”
