Dr. Liang Wang Joins PLOS ONE as Academic Editor

Dr. Liang Wang, Associate Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology in East Tennessee State University’s College of Public Health, has been invited to join the Editorial Board for PLOS ONE as an Academic Editor to help expand the editorial board in the field of Nutrition and Childhood Obesity. In his role as an Academic Editor, he will be responsible for overseeing the peer review process, making editorial decisions, conducting initial assessments, and evaluating reviewer feedback.

Dr. Wang’s recent accomplishments include serving as the Founding President of the International Chinese Nutrition Young Scholar Network which now has more than 2500 members worldwide.  . He has been awarded the ISCEP Fellow Award and NACSN Outstanding Leadership and Service Award, among many others. In addition, he has served as a reviewer for journals such as JAMA Pediatrics, Childhood Obesity, International Journal of Obesity, and Advances in Nutrition. He will serve as a visiting scientist in T. H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University in 2019, with a focus on nutrition and obesity epidemiology, under the mentorship with Dr. Frank Hu, the Fredrick J. Stare Professor of Nutrition and Epidemiology and Chair of Department of Nutrition at Harvard University.

PLOS ONE is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary, open access journal that publishes articles of high quality scientific research. The journal publishes a broad scope of topics to facilitate the detection of possible links among disciplines. As a professional in the field of nutrition and childhood obesity, Dr. Liang Wang will contribute to PLOS ONE by shaping goals and development, engaging with the scientific community as an expert, and assessing article quality for publication.
