ETSUs Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy graduates 78 in commencement exercise

JOHNSON CITY A commencement ceremony took place Friday morning for the 78 students making up the Class of 2015 in the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy at East Tennessee State University.

During his address, Dean Larry Calhoun congratulated the newly minted pharmacists and thanked each of them for choosing ETSU.

They could have gone anywhere in the United States to pharmacy school, but they chose ETSU, Calhoun said. They have been pioneers in helping us to establish a really great college of pharmacy reputation. These students are leaving the college better than they found it.

Class President Brooks Hogue, in his speech, thanked the College of Pharmacy faculty for the outstanding job they have done in grooming us to become pharmacists.

Theres very little we can do to appropriately repay you, Hogue told them.

Several graduates received awards during the ceremony, including Carolyn Adams and Holly Small, who were recognized for being the highest ranking students in the graduating class. Both Adams and Small were given the Valedictorian Award for having perfect grade point averages.

Students in the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacys Class of 2015 represent eight states and 27 different cities in Tennessee.
