In all, we had seven pharmacists along with 40 student pharmacists volunteer for the community enrichment activity. Mt City also had a DrNP student. The objective is to collect unused or unwanted pharmaceuticals from the community. The practice is encouraged by many state and government offices.
As activity volunteers and researchers, we assist law enforcement in the collection process. Often providing education to donors regarding safe medication storage and disposal. Along with risk mitigation practices and risk (diversion, overdose, accidental poisonings, medical misadventures, etc) awareness discussions. I do not have the specific information on how many donors or pounds were donated yet.
