UH Track Athlete Skyler Miller to Sign With King University

Skyler Miller

The signing ceremony of University High track athlete Skyler Miller took place in the school gym (Alexander Hall), on May 18, 2021.  Miller signed to continue his academic and athletic career at King University.

Miller, a senior at University High School, will sign with King to run track as a member of the sprint team in the Class of 2025. Miller is captain of the UH track team and a two-time UH MVP Sprinter. He competes in the 200- and 400-meter races. Miller plans to study exercise science at King. He is the son of Dan and Mary Ellen Miller of Johnson City. He is a member of Grace Fellowship Church where he takes part in the student Leadership team and teaches Sunday school. He is active in UH YoungLife. For the past year he worked at The Firehouse Restaurant as a team member and line cook. He recently became an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard and will lifeguard this summer. He is a 2018 Insight STEM Academy graduate and was a junior cotillion teacher in 2018/2019.

“Skyler is our team leader and captain,” said Coach Meagan Lyons. “Being our only senior, he stepped up and helped his teammates get better.  Whether it was blocks or handoffs, he was willing help.  He led warmups at practices and helped everyone to know when to start warming up for event ant meets."

Please join us in celebrating Skyler Miller's high school career as well as his signing with King University.  Note that in order to provide the safest environment possible, masks are required on campus at ETSU as well as maintaining social distancing while attending the event.  Should you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to Coach Justin Penley(penleyj@etsu.edu).
