Friday, October 03, 2008JOHNSON CITY – “Fall Constellation Mythology” is the topic of a free public Star Party/Observatory Open House to be held tomorrow (Oct. 4) at East Tennessee State University’s Harry D. Powell Observatory.
Scheduled from 8-10 p.m., the event features a brief discussion led by Dr. Gary Henson, ETSU assistant professor of Physics and Astronomy, followed by an opportunity to view celestial objects through the observatory’s telescopes. Henson and other ETSU astronomers will be available to assist visitors and answer questions.
The Powell Observatory is located above the ETSU campus off Narrow Lane. In case of rain or cloud cover, the event will be canceled.
