Planetarium show depicts how the stars illustrate Greek mythology

Monday, October 06, 2008JOHNSON CITY – “Storytelling in the Stars” a free public planetarium show, will be held at East Tennessee State University’s Hutcheson Hall planetarium on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m.

“Every fall evening, a pageant of Greek mythology traverses the sky,” says Dr. Gary Henson, ETSU assistant professor of Physics and Astronomy. “With the characters from the ancient story of Perseus and Andromeda as the background, this program will explain the symbolic nature of the constellations and their connection to mythology.”
