Thursday, December 11, 2008JOHNSON CITY—The recently concluded “ETSU Gives Back” annual giving campaign at East Tennessee State University surpassed its $80,000 goal by amassing $80,092.57.
These contributions by ETSU faculty, staff, retirees, and students will be distributed to Community Health Charities ($21,060.52), Community Shares ($4.564.12), and United Way ($51,300.93) in addition to Independent Charitable Organizations ($3,167).
ETSU President Dr. Paul E. Stanton Jr. led the campaign, along with co-chairs Martha Edde-Adams, coordinator for the Medical Professions Advisement Program in the College of Arts and Sciences; Joy Fulkerson, coordinator with ETSU Greek Life and Community Service Programs; and Sue Russell, office manager in the James H. Quillen College of Medicine’s Student Affairs Office.
The campaign sum includes $764.17 given by students, $7,710 contributed by ETSU retirees, and the remainder donated by faculty and staff, among them 84 “Fair Share” givers who provide one hour’s pay per month throughout the year.
