Just over 150 students major or minor in music each year, participating in an annual concert season that includes over 200 performances by ensembles, students, faculty, and guest artists. The ETSU Department of Music provides students with the opportunity to participate in classical choral, wind, and orchestral ensembles as well as jazz, contemporary, marching, chamber, and avant-garde.

The piano faculty and students are world class and perform throughout the year. The Department of Music hosts world-renowned guest artists who perform on campus and provide masterclasses for music students. The Department of Music prides itself as an All-Steinway school.
