The Department of Theatre and Dance gives strong support to Patchwork Players, a campus wide, student based, organization that produces student run productions every semester. Open to ALL ETSU Students regardless of major or minor. Productions range from full length plays on campus, to touring productions, Improv, 10-minute play festivals and more.

They provide extensive resources and year-round opportunities for our constituents. The Tennessee Theatre Association (TTA) was founded in 1968 with the aid of a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission. To accomplish that purpose, the Association serves as a vehicle for communication through its newsletters and through its annual convention. It provides members with workshops, programs and seminars and with the opportunity to meet, work with and learn from each other as well as from invitedtheatre professionals from other states.TTA also serves as a liaison between Tennessee, regional, and nationaltheatre organizations.

Tennessee Association of Dance (TAD) represents the interests of dance as an art form, as education, and as a profession to individuals and organizations as appropriate, and informs members of governmental issues that may impact dance in Tennessee. Members of the Association actively participate in statewide arts organizations, local and national dance-related organizations, often holding leadership positions.

The United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) is a place to network, exchange ideas, and grow. We have been serving professionals and pre-professionals in design, production, and technology for the performing arts since 1960. USITT provides benefits, learning opportunities, and networking for over 3,700 members worldwide. For architects who design the spaces and those who create and manage the productions, our Annual Conference & Stage Expo as well as regional and local events, are where the performing arts community gathers.
