About Computing at ETSU
The Department of Computing at ETSU
The ETSU Department of Computing has been part of ETSU since 1972. Like the computer industry, we have experienced continual change. We strive to offer students a balance between contemporary skills and theory that prepares them to enter the job market and to absorb the concepts they need to advance in their careers.
Computing Graduate and Undergraduate Programs
Concentrations include Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, and Cybersecurity and Modern Networks. Core classes, which are shared by all four concentrations, teach programming, computer organization, database management, and software engineering. The choice of electives and concentration create a customized education for computing professionals.
Concentrations include Applied Computer Science and Information technology. They share a core of software engineering classes. Both concentrations feature concentration-specific courses, together with opportunities to take electives.
A typical CSCI Undergraduate program at ETSU lasts four years. Upon receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Computing, students may further their education in the graduate program, which typically lasts two years.
