Jeff Pizzino teaches students how to zero in on what it takes to make communications more attention-getting, engaging, and persuasive. Since 1987, he's built his career on researching target audiences, identifying competitive advantages, and shaping strategy and messaging that moves clients’ communications from noise to noticeable. He brings decades of practitioner experiences and these real-world processes directly into the classroom.
Jeff began his public relations career at Ketchum Public Relations in New York City
and held corporate communications leadership roles with other enterprises afterward,
but has spent the majority of his career on the entrepreneurial path. His accomplishments
include securing media coverage in consumer and trade outlets, fine-tuning corporate
and product messaging, writing taglines, securing celebrity endorsements, negotiating
product placements in film and TV, and advising on corporate culture.
This practitioner background shapes how he teaches. In his inaugural year as an adjunct
at Milligan University in 2025/26, Jeff built his PR courses around live-client work
— students produced full portfolios while providing pro bono campaigns for local businesses.
This approach and his teaching style earned high course evaluations.
Jeff holds an MBA in Management from Western International University and a Bachelor
of Arts in Communications, with an emphasis in Public Relations, from Brigham Young
University (BYU). He’s Accredited in Public Relations (APR) and publishes a weekly
newsletter, "Authentically Yours."
A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jeff also holds Italian citizenship (molto bene!). In his spare time he studies Italiano; practices guitar; gardens; plays pickleball, disc golf, and board games; reads; listens to eclectic music; serves in his church; and watches BYU football.
