Diana Heiman, M.D., CAQSM
I grew up outside of Cleveland in Solon, OH, and graduated with a B.S. in Management from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. I received my medical degree from Case Western Reserve University, and then traveled to Virginia for Family Medicine training at the University of Virginia. The University of Michigan was my next destination for a Sports Medicine Fellowship and some junior faculty work. In 2003 I joined the faculty at the University of Connecticut/St. Francis Hospital Family Medicine Residency as the Associate Residency Director and Associate Sports Medicine Fellowship Director. There I was the Team Physician for the WNBA Connecticut Sun, the World Team Tennis Fox Force and four high schools within the Hartford Public School System. I also covered the Big East Women's Basketball Tournament, State High School Girls and Boys Basketball Tournaments and the state high school Wrestling Tournament for Class S.
I became Program Director at the Johnson City Family Medicine Residency Program in
January 2012, where I look forward to enhancing sports medicine education and adding
team coverage to my work here. My husband, Nick, is a 6th grade teacher and coaches
football, wrestling and track. We have an adorable dog, LC, and enjoy traveling, collecting
and drinking wine, photography and cooking.
