The mission of University Health Center is to provide acute and episodic care to university students and employees which
includes QCOM residents and fellows. The University Health Center is a nurse managed
clinic and the health care providers are Board Certified Nurse Practitioners.
University Health Center
The Wayne G. Basler Center for Physical Activity (CPA) is a 120,000 square foot facility that offers 19,000 square feet of weight
room & cardio space, 1/8 miles indoor track, four (4) fitness studios, four (4) basketball/volleyball
courts, two (2) racquetball/squash courts, indoor climbing/bouldering wall, eight
(8) lane indoor pool, casual care child care center, and locker rooms/private changing
areas. Campus Recreation also operates outdoor facilities that include: Basler Team
Challenge & Aerial Adventure Course, Campus Recreation Field Complex, intramural/sport
club fields adjacent to the CPA, University Woods Trail System, 9 hole disc golf course,
and six (6) tennis courts.
The Tweetsie Trail offers a seven mile stretch between Johnson City and neighboring
Elizabethton providing a beautiful, natural setting to walk, run or bike.

The Virginia Creeper trails located just miles from Johnson City and stretches for
34 miles year round for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding. There are designated
sections to allow for easy family bike rides.
