Are you thinking about becoming a doctor or about a career in the health professions? A way you can help confirm that desire is through gaining valuable medically related /research experiences. Quillen College of Medicine offers such experiences for both high school and college students through varied offerings.
When applying to medical school, admissions committees will not only evaluate your ability to perform both academically and on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). They will also look to see if you have documented and demonstrated passion for people and the profession of medicine. You can demonstrate this through gaining pertinent medically related experiences. These experiences will also help confirm your desire for pursuing a career in the health professions.
Keep a journal as you gain these experiences. Document the following in your journal: actual time, contact name, contact information and how this experience has helped you solidify your desire to continue your pursuit of a career in medicine.
