MPH Admissions for International Applicants

Admissions Criteria
  • Transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended. International applicants will need to have their transcripts officially sent to the World Education Service (WES) for verification.
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
  • A satisfactory score on the General Records Examination* (GRE) from the last five (5) years.
  • There are no exemptions to the GRE for international applicants.
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation.
  • A personal statement.
  • International applicants must provide evidence of English proficiency by scoring at least a 79 on the TOEFL exam or 6.5 on the IELTS exam. TOEFL scores may be sent directly to SOPHAS, but the IELTS score must be sent to:

Additional Information for International Applications
  • The TOEFL English Proficiency Exam is the preferred exam for international applicants.  If an applicant chooses to complete the IELTS exam, their testing scores have to be sent directly to the College of Public Health.  Do not use the college’s PO BOX.  DHL, the most common courier for scores, will only ship to a physical address.  SOPHAS will not accept IELTS exam scores.
  • International applicants do not have to provide a TOEFL or IELTS exam score if they are from:
      • Nigeria
      • Ghana
      • Liberia
      • Canada (not Quebec)
      • United Kingdom
      • Bahamas
      • Bermuda
      • Trinidad and Tobago
      • Australia
      • Grenada
