Partnering for Better Health
The Regional Public Colleges and Universities (RPCU) Central Appalachia Health Consortium is a partnership between 8 universities across Central Appalachia with a shared goal of addressing health professional shortages and strengthening regional economic development and prosperity.
The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) awarded East Tennessee State University a $255,165 Appalachian Regional Initiative for Strong Economies (ARISE) planning grant to create the RPCU Central Appalachia Health Consortium.
Together, the member institutions will create shared opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students across institutions to address health professions needs across 6 states and 235 counties. This partnership will provide work-based training for future doctors, nurses, pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, radiology, and other health professionals.
