About Accountancy

Accounting is a successful, rewarding and challenging career. Certified public accountants (CPA’s) are some of the most important decision makers in business. Their ability to understand and communicate financial information makes them very valuable. They work in a variety of industries such as government, entertainment, travel, and sports. The bachelor of business administration degree in accounting is designed to help students develop critical thinking and problem solving skills and learn technology commonly used in the profession. ETSU’s accounting curriculum is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). If you would like to become a CPA, certified management accountant (CMA), or a certified internal auditor (CIA), you should consider continuing your education. The master of accountancy (M.Acc) program at ETSU meets the educational requirements for the CPA, CMA and CIA professional exams.
