Juniors, seniors, grad students invited to ‘Real World 101’
JOHNSON CITY (March 3, 2020) – The East Tennessee State University National Alumni Association will hold its “Graduation Celebration: Real World 101” event for undergraduate students with 60 or more hours and all graduate students Wednesday, March 11, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in Court 4 of the Wayne G. Basler Center for Physical Activity.
The free event features displays, food, prizes and advice about graduation and life thereafter.
The “Graduation Celebration” gives students a chance to order their official ETSU class rings from Balfour Jewelers and check out other Balfour graduation supplies, such as invitations and “thank you” notes. Students will also receive information about joining the ETSU National Alumni Association and can pick up their caps and gowns for the May commencement ceremony from the ETSU Registrar’s Office.
MAC Cosmetics will offer color demonstrations to those in attendance and professional photographers from Island Photography will be on hand to photograph students in their caps and gowns.
Also, in Court 3, Heidi Dulebohn will conduct dining etiquette training sessions, and Regions Bank will present interviewing tips.
Eastman Credit Union will hold brief financial advisory talks. Each session will last 30 minutes or less, and refreshments will be served after each session for those in attendance. Questions are welcomed at all sessions.
Participants are encouraged to bring copies of their résumés and cover letters, which may be reviewed by staff from University Career Services.
Representatives from the ETSU School of Graduate Studies, Financial Aid and Financial Services offices will provide details about master’s degrees and important exit information. Also, businesses from the community will have information and giveaways relating to life after college, and Jones Chiropractic will offer free chair massages.
