JOHNSON CITY (May 18, 2020) – The ETSU Health Osteoporosis Center will offer free osteoporosis screenings every Thursday in June to support osteoporosis awareness in the community and in recognition of Osteoporosis Month, celebrated during May.
The free dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scans will include one hip and the spine, with interpretation. This non-invasive test measures bone mineral density to assess its strength.
The ETSU Health Osteoporosis Center, located at 2109 W. Market St., Room 143, promotes research; provides diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive services; and facilitates educational opportunities for the public and health care professionals.
