ETSU welcomes the following new faculty and staff to the university family:
Turner Battle is an assistant coach in the athletic training room in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Cheyenne Beeler is an information research technician in the Office of Financial Services.
Haley Bell is a laboratory assistant in the Department of Chemistry. She holds a B.S. in chemistry from Tennessee Wesleyan University.
Dr. Priyamvada Chaudary is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics.
Jordan De Jong is a manager in Health Services Management and Policy. Before coming to ETSU, she was director of communication at the Charleston (South Carolina) Collegiate School. She holds a master of health communication from Johns Hopkins University.
Jessie Denton is an accountant in the Office of Financial Services.
Chad Donley is director of basketball operations for men’s basketball in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. He holds a master’s degree in sport management from ETSU.
Nicole Echeverria is an interpreter with the College of Nursing Office of Practice. She was previously a host at Sant Ambroeus-SoHo in New York City. She holds a B.A. in international affairs and Spanish from ETSU.
Dr. Bhavesh Gajjar is a Veterans Affairs academic faculty member in the Department of Internal Medicine.
Whitney Calhoun Goetz is executive director of the ETSU Alumni Association. Before coming to ETSU, she was director of human resources for the Tennessee Department of Treasury. She holds a B.A. from ETSU and an M.B.A. from Milligan University.
Greg J. Heiar is an assistant men’s basketball coach in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. He comes to ETSU from Louisiana State University, where he was an associate head coach of men’s basketball. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ashford University.
Dr. Christopher Hovorka is an assistant professor in the Department of Rehabilitative Health Sciences and director of the new Orthotics and Prosthetics Program, which is currently under development. Before coming to ETSU, he was an assistant professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology, Prosthetics and Orthotics Program, at the University of Pittsburgh. He holds a Ph.D. in applied physiology with a concentration in biomechanics and motor control from Georgia Tech.
Latosha Hurt is an accountant in the Office of Financial Services. She was previously an account clerk at Northeast State Community College. She holds a B.B.A. from ETSU.
Dr. Manar H. Jbara is an assistant professor of cardiology in the Department of Internal Medicine after completing his cardiology fellowship at ETSU’s Quillen College of Medicine. He holds his M.D. degree from Al-Nahrain University, Baghdad, Iraq.
Ricardo Rojas Leal is head women’s tennis coach in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics after holding the position as a temporary and nine years as an assistant men’s tennis coach. He holds his bachelor’s, M.B.A. and master’s in sports management from ETSU.
Megan McCormick is a graduation analyst in the Office of the Registrar after working as a temporary employee in the office. She plans to graduate from ETSU in December with a B.A. degree in anthropology.
Christen Minnick is an assistant professor in the Department of Community and Behavioral Health. Before coming to ETSU, she was director of the Washington county Health Department. She holds an M.P.H. degree from ETSU.
Irshaan Stoss is a coordinator in Postal Services.
Aimee Taylor is a business manager in the Office of Human Resources. Before coming to ETSU, she was employed by Mitch Cox Companies, Johnson City, as a human resources generalist. She holds generalist certification from eCornell.
Kirstin Tipton is an early interventionist with the Center for Early Childhood Learning and Development in the Clemmer College after serving as a graduate assistant in Little Bucs. She holds a master’s degree in early childhood-special education from ETSU.
Jessica Wang is director for student success in the Clemmer College. She comes to ETSU from Harvard University, where she earned her master’s degree.
Natalie Wigle is a social worker with the College of Nursing at the Johnson City Community Health Center. She was previously a staff counselor at the ETSU Counseling Center. She holds a master of social work degree from ETSU and is a licensed clinical social worker.
Amber Zeigler is a medicolegal death investigator at the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center, Quillen College of Medicine. She holds a B.S. in microbiology from ETSU and a graduate certificate in forensic death investigation from the University of Florida.
