East Tennessee State University welcomes the following faculty and staff members who recently joined the university:
Dr. Melody Blevins is Access ETSU project manager in the Department of Educational Foundations and Special Education. She comes to ETSU from the Washington County School System, where she was a special education interventionist. She holds a doctor of education degree from Milligan University.
Kate Emmerich is a mental health counselor in the Quillen College of Medicine, Office of Student Affairs. Before attaining her current position, she was a therapist at The Journey Center for Healing Arts. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Michigan State University.
Angela Grider is a career coach with Families First in the Center for Community Outreach. Before coming to ETSU, she was a special education teacher in the Muscogee County (Georgia) Chancelight Program. She holds a master’s degree in special education from Piedmont College.
Gary Hiatt is director of financial accounting in Business and Finance. He previously worked in financial accounting at Acadia Healthcare. He holds an MHA degree from Oklahoma State University.
Joe Horn is an assistant football coach in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics after working in a like position at Ashland University. He holds an MBA degree from Ashland University.
Angela Johnson is an information research technician in Procurement and Contract Services. She holds certification as a professional coder and was previously employed by State of Franklin Healthcare. She earned an associate degree at Florida Community College of Jacksonville.
Jenna Moore Lafever is a director of development with the Office of University Advancement for the Martin Center for the Arts. Before coming to ETSU, she was director of sales and public relations for Visit Johnson City. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Rob Meier is assistant director of recruiting events in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions after serving as interim assistant director of recruiting events. He holds an Ed.D. degree from ETSU.
Jan Bailey Stout is an academic advisor in the College of Business and Technology. Before coming to ETSU, she was a One Stop Student Services counselor at the University of Tennessee. She holds an M.Ed. degree from Virginia Polytechnic and State University.
Sandra Talford is an experiential coordinator in the Gatton College of Pharmacy. She was previously a staffing coordinator with Luttrell Staffing Group and studied liberal arts at LaGuardia Community College.
Dr. Jessica Turner is an assistant professor and director of behavioral health in the Department of Obstetrics and Gyneclogy. Before coming to ETSU, she was a residential recovery clinical program manager at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center at Mountain Home. She holds a Ph.D. degree from ETSU.
