East Tennessee State University welcomes the following faculty and staff members who recently joined the university:
Sara Allen is a marketing and communications manager with the Martin Center for the Arts. She was previously a digital marketing manager with Pharmacy Network Services. She holds a B.S. degree in mass communications from the University of Montevallo.
Sarah Bennett is an employment coordinator for Access ETSU, Clemmer College. Before coming to ETSU, she was a coordinator of High School Programs and Perkins V at Northeast State Community College. She holds a B.A. degree in collaborative health and human services from California State University of Monterey Bay.
Wesley Coates is an executive aide in the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. He was previously a sales supervisor in books and stationery with Ollie’s Bargain Outlet. He holds a B.A. degree from ETSU.
Teresa Feltner is an office coordinator with the Martin Center for the Arts after serving in a like position with the College of Nursing. She holds an Associate of Arts degree from Hazard Technical and Community College.
Katie (Beth) Ritchie Hyder is an ITS technician in Information Technology Services after working in retail management with Ballad Health. She holds a B.S. degree in applied human sciences from ETSU.
Dr. Kelly Karpa is an associate dean for Institutional Effectiveness and Innovation, director of IPE Research, and professor in the Department of Medical Education, Quillen College of Medicine. Before coming to ETSU, she was an assistant dean for Interprofessional Education at the Penn State University College of Medicine, where she earned her Ph.D.
Dr. Susan McCracken is vice provost for Community Engagement and director of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Office of the Provost. She comes to ETSU from Appalachian State University, where she earned her Ed.D. degree and served as director of Career Development and Economic Engagement.
Hannah Norris is an international student success coordinator in the Mary V. Jordan Multicultural Center. She was a student success coach at Wake Technical Community College before attaining her current position. She holds a master’s degree in international studies from Concordia University Irvine.
Katelyn Poteet is an instructor in the College of Nursing. She was previously assistant director of nursing at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. She holds an MSN degree from ETSU.
Lydia Ugwu is a teacher with the ETSU Little Buccaneers Early Childhood Learning Program after serving Little Bucs on a temporary basis. She holds an M.A. degree in early childhood education from ETSU.
