What are you looking forward to the most about being an ETSU faculty member?
I am excited about working with students and sharing my knowledge and experiences with them and then having meaningful dialogue with them as well. I like to feel challenged by my students and I enjoy seeing "aha" moments in their eyes.
Where were you working most recently?
I have been managing physician practice plans for the last 20 years at several academic medical centers/schools of medicine – most recently at Yale School of Medicine.
What are your favorite hobbies?
My hobbies include golfing, reading a good book, and spending time with my family.

Amy Davis

What are you looking forward to the most about being an ETSU faculty member?
As a proud two-time graduate of ETSU, I am so pleased to be returning to this institution to share my experiences in the field and embark on new ones as I grow in learning with students and co-workers. I look forward to networking with other professionals and the surrounding communities to share best practices for school librarians, promote good information literacy skills for children, and encourage reading with all ages.
Where were you working most recently?
I spent the past few years teaching high school courses (American Sign Language, Introduction to Early Childhood Education, and Introduction to Human Studies) and doing academic advising for an online Tennessee public school. Prior to that, I spent many years as an elementary school librarian and several years teaching pre-K and kindergarten, and I owned/directed a private child care center.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I feel like I'm being a little predictable in saying this, but...I like to read. I also enjoy shopping, watching movies, and outings to the zoo, the aquarium, local festivals, skating, etc. with family and friends.

Olivia Dover

What are you looking forward to the most about being an ETSU faculty member?
I truly enjoy watching the excitement of the students learning the field of radiology. I look forward to using my knowledge and experience to help shape exceptional future radiologic technologists.
Where were you working most recently?
I worked for Blue Ridge Regional Hospital as a lead CT technologist performing CT scans and diagnostic x-ray exams for 12 years. I began teaching adjunct in the radiologic procedure lab courses in 2019. That opportunity led to a full-time position within the program, and my current role as director of Clinical Education.
What are your favorite hobbies?
In my spare time, I love spending time outdoors. I enjoy going for walks and farming.
Dr. Jennifer Kirsch

What are you looking forward to the most about being an ETSU faculty member?
I am most looking forward to contributing to the growth and advancement of the counseling program here at ETSU, as well as partnering with incredible colleagues to produce field-changing and field-growing research within the counseling community.
Where were you working most recently?
I was most recently working as a full-time, doctoral graduate assistant within Virginia Tech’s Counselor Education program while completing my Ph.D.
What are your favorite hobbies?
Watching UGA College football on Saturdays, SEC Championships, and National Championships. Additionally, my hobbies include baking and cooking, going to trivia nights, visiting local vineyards and cafés, and playing a variety of games.

Mallory Nischan

What are you looking forward to the most about being an ETSU faculty member?
I’m looking forward to getting to know students and helping to create a community of French language learners on campus. I’m also excited to work with and learn from my colleagues.
Where were you working most recently?
Most recently, I was teaching French as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, where I'm still finishing my PhD.
What are your favorite hobbies?
My favorite hobbies are running, reading, language learning, traveling, drinking excellent coffee, and hanging out with my family.

Brandi Townsley

What are you looking forward to the most about being an ETSU faculty member?
As I begin this new chapter in my career, I look forward to working closely with students and collaborating with faculty to continue the high-quality education the dental hygiene program provides.
Where were you working most recently?
Before transitioning to higher education, I worked as a clinical dental hygienist for almost 20 years for Dr. David Dykes in Greeneville. I started teaching at ETSU in 2014 as an adjunct faculty member and continued working part-time in private practice until 2019. I most recently served in a staff position in the dental hygiene program before being hired as a full-time faculty member.
What are your favorite hobbies?
My hobbies include reading, cooking, gardening, and DIY home projects. I am currently working on my doctoral degree, so most of my free time is spent on my studies.

Dr. Holly Wei

What are you looking forward to the most about being an ETSU faculty member?
I am excited to work with the outstanding faculty, staff, and students at ETSU College of Nursing to explore the new and unknowns and achieve excellence together.
Where were you working most recently?
I was a professor, assistant dean, and director for the Ph.D. program at the University of Louisville School of Nursing in Kentucky.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I am a runner and like to train with groups for marathons and half marathons. My latest two were the Kentucky Derby Marathon and UNC Tar-Heel Double Down in April 2022.

Dr. Mary Ellen Wright

What are you looking forward to the most about being an ETSU faculty member?
I am looking forward to working with the interdisciplinary teams through the College of Nursing and the university to advance research in the areas of improving caring environments in health care with a special focus on women in the childbearing period and substance exposure. I also look forward to the opportunities within the nurse-managed clinics and programs at the ETSU College of Nursing that serves the rural Appalachian region, along with the outstanding programs for nurses to advance their scholarship and education.
Where were you working prior to ETSU?
I was director of Undergraduate Nursing and assistant professor at Clemson University School of Nursing. I genuinely enjoyed my time at Clemson and continue collegial relationships in research with colleagues at Clemson.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I love animals, both my own and supporting the rehabilitation of those without homes. I love most crafts, and I can make gifts for family and friends. I love hiking our mountains around our home in Asheville. I love being with my children and grandchildren doing anything.
