JOHNSON CITY – The East Tennessee State University Jazz Ensemble will present their spring concert titled “Mixed Bag” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, in the Grand Hall of the ETSU Martin Center for the Arts.
“Instead of presenting a particular genre of music like our Latin Music and Fusion
Music concerts of the past, we decided to feature a variety of musical styles on this
performance for a change of pace,” said Martin Walters, director of Jazz and Contemporary
Music Studies at ETSU. “We are very excited to feature so many of our talented students
as soloists on this concert as well.”

The ETSU Contemporary Collective will perform on the program along with the Jazz Ensemble. Students from the ETSU Department of Media and Communication will film the event.
“From pop to rock, movie themes and swing, we think everyone will enjoy this ‘Mixed
Bag’ of music,” Walters added.
Tickets are $12 for general admission, $6 for seniors and free for students with ETSU ID. Get tickets through the Martin Center.
All proceeds benefit scholarships and programs for students of the ETSU Department of Music. For disability accommodations, call the ETSU Office of Disability Services at (423) 439-8346.
