ETSU, Mayland Community College launch new Human Services pathway
Dr. John Boyd, president of Mayland Community College, shakes hands with Dr. Bill Flora, Associate Provost for Curriculum at ETSU.
East Tennessee State University and Mayland Community College are launching a new partnership to provide a streamlined pathway for students pursuing a career in Human Services.
This agreement, effective immediately, allows MCC students to transfer their associate in applied science degree in Human Services to ETSU, where they can complete their bachelor's degree. Students will also have the opportunity to choose the child life concentration and/or the trauma and resilience minor.
“The articulation agreement between ETSU and MCC in the field of Human Services allows us to partner as we put into action the missions of both schools to serve our communities and improve the quality of life for the people of the region and beyond,” said Dr. Phyllis Thompson, ETSU Chair of Counseling and Human Services.
The signing ceremony for the new articulation agreement took place on July 23 on the MCC campus, featuring remarks from Dr. John Boyd, President of MCC, and Dr. Bill Flora, ETSU Associate Provost for Curriculum.
This agreement offers students a seamless transfer of credits, continued education in a supportive environment, access to ETSU's resources and opportunities and enhanced career prospects with a bachelor's degree in human services.
“By transferring their credits smoothly, our students can focus on their growth and success, confident that they are building on a strong foundation laid here at Mayland Community College. We look forward to seeing our graduates thrive at ETSU and beyond,” said Boyd.
Mayland Community College is located in Spruce Pine, North Carolina.
