Not only will the East Tennessee State University campus be covered in sparkling lights for the holidays, but the university will be represented in popular regional light displays, as well.
ETSU once again has a Buccaneer-themed display as part of Speedway in Lights at Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway. Billed as “the region’s most dazzling holiday light show,” this regional holiday tradition provides a four-mile journey through three million lights, including a lap around “The World’s Fastest Half-Mile.”
Speedway in Lights runs from Nov. 15-Jan. 4 from 6-10 p.m. nightly. Admission for one car with up to eight people ranges from $20-$35. Proceeds benefit the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.
ETSU will also be highlighted once again in a display at Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland at the Appalachian Fairgrounds in Gray starting Friday, Nov. 22. Shadrack’s produces drive-thru and walk-thru light shows synchronized to music at locations in Tennessee, North Carolina and Alabama.
Vehicle admission ranges from $29.69 to $69.13 (dates/times to be announced).
In addition to the show in Gray, Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland is bringing its magic to the ETSU campus this year with a special display on the front lawn of University School. This 3D display includes a giant, walk-through Christmas tree ornament in ETSU blue and gold lights.
