What is GPSA?
The Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) of East Tennessee State University is a student-managed organization whose membership is open to all currently enrolled post-baccalaureate degree-seeking students. Our primary function is to improve the quality of graduate and professional education and student experience at ETSU. Graduate and Professional students represent approximately 20% of the total student population at ETSU, and the teaching, clinical, and research activities of these students present genuine needs that are considerably different from those of the undergraduate student population.
Our Purpose
The primary goal of the GPSA is to provide support and informational services that will encourage all graduate or professional students to:
- Network with students and faculty from different disciplines.
- Participate in numerous professional development events.
- Build valuable academic and professional presentation skills.
- Give back to the university and the wider community.
- Be involved in university-wide governance and development as graduate students.
The function and purpose of the GPSA will benefit not only all graduate or professional students, but also those undergraduate students interested in applying to post-baccalaureate degree programs at ETSU.
Who We Serve
We serve all graduate and professional students enrolled in the ETSU Graduate School and our seven colleges: Arts and Sciences, Business & Technology, Clinical & Rehabilitative Health Sciences, Education, Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health.
