Meet Rebecca Olwata
Class of 2025
B.S. Nursing
Australia
Rebecca is a Spring 2025 graduate of ETSU, where she received her degree in Nursing! She was born in Botswana, but grew up in Australia and has Kenyan and Ugandan heritage. During her time at ETSU, Rebecca was always getting involved on campus! She served as an SGA senator for the College of Nursing, Co-President of The Roots Alliance, and was Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated's 2023-2024 Miss Black and Gold.

Rebecca's favorite place on campus is the Information Station in the heart of the D.P. Culp Center. Through the Information Station, she got to meet new people and have great conversations, which fostered many great friendships for her!

Take full advantage of every opportunity that comes your way. Being an International
Student definitely gives you a different experience compared to a regular student,
but that's not a bad thing - it's unique! It can be tough at times, but don't hesitate
to step out of your comfort zone. Try new things, join organizations you're passionate
about, or even start your own that reflect your interests. I truly believe that finding
your community can totally transform your college experience.
