JOHNSON CITY (Feb. 1, 2018) – The Innovation Lab at East Tennessee State University will host local entrepreneur John Cannon in an informational forum, “Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies: Myths vs. Reality,” on Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 6-8 p.m.
Cannon is founder and CEO of Symply Health, Inc., and has researched alternative currencies for several years. This presentation is intended for those who are new to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, as Cannon will address important questions, such as – How do they work? What makes them different? How secure are they? What determines their price? Can they be regulated? What is their potential impact in the future?
“I look forward to having the community hear from one of our region’s entrepreneurs to learn how this new technology works in practice,” said Dr. Audrey Depelteau, director of the ETSU Innovation Lab, a high-tech business incubator that assists aspiring entrepreneurs in developing their ideas from concept to commercialization.
The forum is free and open to the public. Space is limited, so call 423-439-8500 or 423-930-6541 to register. For disability accommodations, call the ETSU Office of Disability Services at 423-439-8346.
