Drs. The college is incredibly proud of their leadership, service, and dedication to students.
During the ceremony, their nominations were read as follows:
Dr. Katelyn Alexander
"Not only is Katelyn Alexander a leader, she is also a builder. In 2014, Katelyn established and staffed the ETSU Charitable Pharmacy in collaboration with several stakeholders, helping indigent and uninsured patients in our region gain access to the medications they need. In 2017, she led efforts to establish and design a postgraduate pharmacy residency training program and served as the program’s director. Katelyn is currently the Director of Experiential Education at the ETSU Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy where she advises and instructs the next generation of pharmacists. In her free time, she serves the community by volunteering at Remote Area Medical clinics. Through her efforts, Katelyn is building a healthier future for our entire region."
Dr. Jessica Burchette
"Dr. Jessica Burchette has been blessed with a tremendous aptitude for science. She is recognized as an authority in her field of internal medicine pharmacy and has earned the respect of her colleagues and the medical staff at Holston Valley Medical Center. Dr. Burchette is also a gifted teacher who passes along her knowledge to future pharmacists at the Gatton College of Pharmacy in a way that is relatable and innovative. She has been a frequent recipient of student-elected teaching awards, and this year she received the highest honor for teaching at ETSU—the faculty teaching award. With a deep dedication to both her patients and her students, Dr. Jessica Burchette is making a positive impact that will be felt for many years to come."
