Submitting A DNP Application Interview
How to submit an interview for your DNP application to ETSU College of Nursing
1. Go to https://voicethread.com/
a. Upper right corner click register
b. Register for a new account by completing the information required.
c. You will get a confirmation email to active your account- follow the link in your email
2. Login to Voicethread
- Click “create” in the center of the screen or upper left.
- Record video slide
- Allow mic and camera
- Click record when ready to answer these questions:
- Professional Commitment & DNP Knowledge:
-What concentration have you chosen and why did you choose it?
-Tell us why you now wish to pursue doctoral study.
-What do you hope to be doing after completing your DNP and how will the doctoral degree enhance your career goals?
-Why have you selected the DNP over the PhD or other terminal degrees? - Evidence-Based Practice:
-What clinical problem are you passionate about addressing through your DNP project?
-How do you currently use evidence-based practice in your clinical work?
-How do you envision your project making an impact beyond your immediate work setting?
-If admitted, what types of resources or mentorship would you seek for your DNP project? - Personal Strength & Support Systems:
-How do you plan to balance graduate education with work and personal life, and have you considered whether a part-time or full-time plan of study will best support your success in the program?
-What unique perspective or contribution would you bring to our DNP cohort, and is there anything else you would like to share about yourself?
When finished click stop recording. It will play it back for you and you can record
more, cancel and record or save.
Save file-
Title: your last name, first name and E number if you have it
Description: Program you are applying for and entry term
3. Click the share icon
-Change the privacy settings to “anyone with a link can view,”
-Click “copy share link.”
-Once the link has successfully copied, email the link to nursing@etsu.edu with your name and program information clearly stated.
Tips to Prepare for Your Interview:
Look Professional – Dress appropriately, ensure good lighting, and use a clean background.
Control Environment – Record in a quiet, distraction-free space; test your camera and mic.
Answer Effectively – Give clear, thoughtful responses in a conversational style; use notes only for quick reference.
