Students may choose to participate in online synchronous courses offered at ETSU. The instructor may choose to offer a synchronous online section in conjunction with an on-ground class or the instructor may choose to offer the online synchronous as a standalone course.
Students in these sections attend class at regularly scheduled times each week but they attend online through their home or work computer. With the addition of a webcam and microphone, the online synchronous student can interact fully with the instructor and other students in the course. Students can view recorded archives afterward to review important points or pick up items that might have been missed.
Students must be admitted to the university and must have completed any prerequisites before registration. Please read the information in Goldlink carefully and contact the department or instructor if you have questions regarding class meeting requirements.
Synchronous online courses are identified in GoldLink with a 99x section number (example 990, 991, etc.) and Web-Asynchronous as the Instructional Method.
Please contact Information Technology Services at firstname.lastname@example.org or 423.439.8611 if you need additional assistance or information.
