Dr. Morteza Rasoulianboroujeni joined East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy as an Assistant Professor in July 2025. Prior to ETSU, he earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Morteza has held various roles across academia and the biotechnology industry, including
Core Facility Manager, Research Scientist, and Instructor at Marquette University
School of Dentistry, Instructor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and Chief
Scientific Officer at a biotech startup in San Francisco. He has mentored a diverse
group of students in DDS and residency programs at Marquette, as well as PharmD students
at UW–Madison.
His research focuses on the development of drug delivery systems, with particular
emphasis on improving formulation and biodistribution of nanomedicine for cancer treatment.
His team explores novel drug combinations and targeting strategies. He is also interested
in integrating state-of-the-art technologies, including artificial intelligence, to
support the design and screening of delivery systems.
