Creating a Student Education Plan with the 15 to Finish Initiative

15 to Finish initiative is a multi-state endeavor that encourages students to take 15 credits per semester. The initiative is geared towards helping  students to graduate within a reasonable time.

120 credits/ 15 credits per semester = 8 semesters. This translates to 4 years for a freshman to earn a degree.

You can use Degree Works to create a plan of study geared towards 15 credits per semester.

The PLAN function in Degree Works allow students to make a long-term plan for degree completion and verify that the courses they included on their plan will fulfill the degree requirements. The PLAN  can be very useful in helping students actively plan the number of remaining semesters and courses required to graduate. In addition, students will have a concise outline to follow that should eliminate any surprises as long as they stay on course.
