Work for the CFAA!
CFAA student tutors and office staff are hired through a variety of programs, including Academic Performance Scholarships (APS), Federal Work Study (FWS), and Graduate Assistantships (GA), as well as through the university’s Temporary Employee program.
The Center mainly employs individuals capable of tutoring in three broad academic areas—writing, mathematics, and the natural sciences—and most general education core courses. These tutors are undergraduates, graduates, and professional tutors, from a variety of majors and backgrounds. All tutors participate in a rigorous tutor training program certified by the College Reading & Learning Association's International Tutor Training Program Certification (CRLA-ITTPC). This training ensures each tutor receives a combination of face-to-face and online training in key tutoring principles and subject-specific professional development.
